Question Yoga?

I'm trying to get in shape. I want to live a healthier life. My question is about Yoga. Does it really help tone and lose weight? I want to walk 1.5 to 3 miles a day as well. I have some yoga DVDs, but never proven. Does it really work? And is it really good in relaxing? I've had a lot of stress lately including the loss of my sister this week for breast cancer, so I really want to make some changes. Thanks for the help

First, my condolences to you. What a terrible thing to happen, you have my sympathy. Yes! Yoga is wonderful! The same thing here, I bought these tapes and they sat around a couple of years. I started using them about 8 months and the change has been dramatic. I am Yoga tape I use to obtain energy and hard after awakening and PM yoga tape that helps me relax. My sleep has improved dramatically. So now I'm better rested. Practicing yoga strengthens and tones muscles. I was so surprised when I realized that my arms and thighs became much more defined. I also suffered many loses this year – stepson son-in-law, my Pomeranian (very young). Grief is exhausting, emotionally and physically. I am so happy now that I decided to give an opportunity to those tapes. The yoga will give an opportunity to focus and calm down. Yoga also helps to refocus for a little while and this will be very beneficial for you to take a 'break' of sadness. There will be relaxing music. You feel a bit more "at peace" during this difficult time. A couple of other things: Do not expect results immediate, it sticks with it for at least a month. Doing it as a gift for you, force yourself to do even when they want. Once you start your yoga session, you will get in the area "and that will be fine. Good luck!
