Importance Of Balance For Golfers – How To Improve It
Balance may sound like a very simple term. Yet any golfer knows how important this is to the game. Balance is not just about the stance.
Perfect balance is dependant on three factors- how you perceive things visually, signals from within you ear and also from your joints and muscles. When these factors are not synchronized, balance becomes an issue.
The change in balance happens mostly when you move your head. Hence it’s best that your head is kept still while swinging.
Having migranes can also be a cause for balance loss. Frequent migranes require proper medical care and if not treated, they can affect your game to a great extent that your would have never dreamt of.
Do not spend much on new golfing equipment to improve your game without verifying if any of your current medication could have an effect on your balance. Ear Poisoning a serious condition as long as balance is concerned. It is caused by certain medication and most notably, by gentamicin, an antibiotic. Nearly 50% of the people who have taken this drug have experienced ear poisoning of some sort.
Diuretics are problematic as well. If you are under any medication and feel dizziness, get medical attention immediately! This in certain cases could prolong forever so do not treat it with contempt.
In the case that your balance is not perfect, you can try simple exercises that will help. Things like kicking a ball just around a place will make a difference. Try preparing an obstacle course and practice on it to improve. Even your kids can have some fun in the process and they may even create one for you!
A balance board is a useful device to get your centre of gravity right. Handmade good quality balance boards can be found on the internet even on eBay. They are fun and challenging to use! Flexibility exercises are another method of improving your balance. They work by releasing tension in the muscles. Some simple Yoga poses also will help in the loosening process.
The yoga ball or exercise ball is another item that is very useful. Sitting on these balls requires balance also so using this will be very helpful. Start of slowly increasing the time as you go on. They help you in the development of a proper posture and also increase mobility in your lower back and overall body core control.
Balance is a very fundamental aspect of any game and hence you should spend time on working up your balance. It will be very useful in whatever game you take up and regular practice will in due time show fruitful results!
